About Civil Construction Traineeships
There are currently over 20 traineeship options available in Western Australia for the Building and Construction sector.
Of those, eight traineeship options are specific to the civil construction industry, and result in the following qualifications:
Diploma of Civil and Structural Engineering
Certificate II in Civil Construction
Certificate IV in Civil Construction Design
Diploma of Civil Construction Design
Diploma of Civil Construction Management
Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design
Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction
Additionally, there is a Civil Construction for Entry Level Indigenous Workers (Level 1) traineeship which provides an introductory pathway into the industry for indigenous trainees and results in a Certificate I in Resources and Infrastructure Operations
Most Civil Construction traineeships are 12-24 months in duration. It is also possible to progress through qualifications (articulating) to build on and gain more advanced skills.
Many people who complete a Certificate level 2 traineeship in civil construction go on to complete a trade apprenticeship or higher-level traineeship at Certificate III level or above.
